Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect the information you share with us.

1. Who we are

H&Z Installations LLC (“H&Z,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Georgia limited liability company that provides handyman, installation, and moving services in Metro Atlanta and the wider state of Georgia. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information collected through this website and our customer interactions. Our office can be reached at Info@hzinstalls.com or 762-394-9693.

2. What information we collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Contact details: name, phone number, email address, mailing/service address or ZIP code.
  • Project details: the type of work you’re asking about, photos you send us, scope, timing, budget range, and any preferences or constraints you share.
  • Communication content: the body of emails, text messages, voicemails, and form messages you send us.
  • Payment information: if you pay us through our payment provider, billing details are collected and processed by that provider; we generally see only the last four digits of the card and the transaction amount.

2.2 Information we collect automatically

  • Standard server logs: IP address, user-agent string, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps. Used for security, troubleshooting, and aggregate analytics.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see our Cookies Policy for the full list, purposes, and durations.
  • Analytics data (if enabled): aggregated, anonymized data about which pages are visited and how visitors navigate the site, to help us improve content and performance.

2.3 Information from third parties

If you contact us through a third party (Thumbtack, Google, Facebook, a referral partner, etc.), we may receive your contact information and the project details you shared with that platform. Their handling of your data is governed by their own policies.

3. How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiry, prepare an estimate, schedule and perform the work, and follow up after completion.
  • To send appointment confirmations, schedule changes, arrival-window notifications, invoices, and warranty information.
  • To process payments and keep business records required by federal and Georgia tax law.
  • To operate, secure, and improve this website and our internal systems.
  • To send service-related communications (not marketing). With your consent, we may send occasional service reminders or seasonal-maintenance tips.
  • To comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, and protect our rights and the safety of our team and customers.

4. Phone calls and text messages (TCPA / SMS consent)

When you submit a form on this website or otherwise share your phone number with us, you are giving express written consent for H&Z Installations to contact you by phone call and text (SMS) at the number you provided regarding your inquiry, scheduling, and your project. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Message frequency varies. You can opt out of SMS messages from us at any time by replying STOP to any of our texts; reply HELP for help. Consent to receive automated messages is not a condition of any purchase. We do not share your phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes.

5. How we share information

We share personal information only as needed to run our business and as described here:

  • Service providers: companies that help us operate (email delivery, SMS delivery, scheduling, accounting, payment processing, website hosting, customer-support tools). They are bound by confidentiality and may use your data only to provide the service we’ve contracted them for.
  • Subcontractors: if a project requires a specialized subcontractor (electrician, plumber, etc.), we share the minimum information needed to perform the work (your name, project address, scope).
  • Legal: when we’re required to by law, court order, or governmental request; to enforce our agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of H&Z, our team, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers: if H&Z is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you and post a notice on this website if that happens.

We do not sell your personal information.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above. In general:

  • Inquiry information without a contracted project: up to 24 months from the last interaction, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Customer project records: kept for the duration of any applicable warranty plus seven (7) years for tax, accounting, and legal-claim purposes, as required by Georgia law.
  • Server logs: rotated regularly (typically 30–90 days) unless needed for security investigation.
  • Backups: retained according to our backup retention schedule; data in backups is purged on the next backup cycle after the primary record is deleted.

7. Your rights and choices

You have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we have about you.
  • Access a copy of that information in a portable, readable format.
  • Correct information that’s inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your information, subject to records we’re legally required to retain (e.g., completed-project records, tax records).
  • Opt out of marketing communications, SMS messages, or non-essential cookies at any time.
  • Withdraw consent previously given, going forward.
  • Non-discrimination: we will not deny services or change pricing in retaliation for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email Info@hzinstalls.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will respond within thirty (30) days. We may verify your identity before fulfilling the request to protect your information.

8. Children’s privacy

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact Info@hzinstalls.com and we will promptly delete it.

9. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information — including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) for forms and data, access controls on our internal systems, and contracts with our service providers that require equivalent protections. However, no method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Third-party links and services

This website contains links to third-party sites and services (Thumbtack, Facebook, Google Maps, etc.). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies.

11. California, Virginia, and other state-specific notices

If you are a resident of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or another U.S. state with a comprehensive consumer-privacy law, the rights listed in Section 7 of this Policy substantially mirror your state-law rights. To exercise them, follow the instructions in Section 7. If you reside in California, you also have the right to know the categories of personal information we collect, the categories of sources, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it — all of which are described above.

12. International users

This website is operated from the United States and is intended for users located in Georgia and the surrounding region. If you access this site from outside the United States, you understand and consent to your information being processed in the United States.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last reviewed” date at the top will change when we do. Material changes will be highlighted on this page for at least thirty (30) days. Your continued use of the website or our services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
